Welcome to Roan, a coastal gem where sea air, community spirit and nature’s beauty come together.
Your journey begins with a scenic bus journey to a viewpoint overlooking the Beskelandsfjord, where rolling fields meet rugged rock and the coast’s natural beauty unfolds around you. As we drive, an onboard guide will share stories about the people and places that have shaped life along this dramatic shoreline.
Next, arrive at Leirvågan Gård, a celebrated organic farm beautifully situated near a rocky shore. Here, owners Guro Maaø Nilssen and Petter Brandsø cultivate a wide variety of vegetables, herbs and edible flowers using natural, regenerative methods that reflect centuries-old Norwegian farm culture. Wander the kitchen garden paths and breathe in the scent of fresh earth as you learn how food grows in harmony with nature.
Enjoy tastings of Leirvågan’s home-grown produce paired with refreshing apple and berry drinks from neighbouring orchard Joskjør – a perfectly balanced taste of Roan’s flavours and ingenuity. Before returning to Bessaker, there’s an opportunity to purchase local farm products to take a piece of this coastal community away with you.
