How it works

A departure point for many historic Arctic expeditions, Tromsø is one of the world’s great northern cities—and this guided bus tour showcases three of its most iconic attractions.

We begin with a ride on the Fjellheisen cable car to the summit of Mount Storsteinen, 1,378 feet (420 m) above sea level. From here, panoramic views stretch across the city, fjords, mountains, and surrounding islands. Take time to explore the plateau or enjoy a snack at Fjellstua Restaurant.

Next, we visit the Arctic Cathedral, whose soaring glass mosaic windows are inspired by the Arctic landscape and have become one of Tromsø’s most recognizable landmarks.

Our final stop is Full Steam, the world’s northernmost coastal heritage museum. Discover the maritime history of the region, learn about the traditions of the Sea Sámi, and hear stories of the sailors who navigated these challenging northern waters. Be sure not to miss the Northern Lights exhibition, which showcases the aurora through the lenses of acclaimed Norwegian photographers.
