Enjoy a traditional local dish of bacalao at a charming restaurant.
Your guided bus tour begins with a short drive through the picturesque coastal town of Kristiansund before crossing to Averøy Island, the gateway to the Atlantic Road—widely regarded as one of the world’s most scenic road trips.
Stretching just over 5 miles (8 km) along a rugged coastline, the Atlantic Road winds across a series of bridges that link small islands and skerries in a striking blend of engineering and natural beauty.
You’ll stop at Kvernes Stave Church to take in sweeping fjord views and explore its beautifully preserved Baroque interior. Afterwards, you’ll enjoy a cozy break at a local tavern with a bowl of bacalao, a traditional dish made from the region’s famous klippfisk (salted and dried cod). This hearty stew reflects historical trade links with Southern Europe dating back to the 19th century.
Your tour concludes with a gentle drive through Molde, known as the City of Roses, before you rejoin your ship.
