How it works

Paddle out into Nordfjord on a guided kayaking adventure and experience one of Norway's most spectacular fjords from water level. After meeting your professional instructor and guide, you'll learn the basics of kayaking before launching into the sheltered bay and practicing a few simple paddling techniques.

Travelling in stable double kayaks, this excursion is suitable for both beginners and those with previous kayaking experience. As you glide across the fjord, you'll be surrounded by steep mountain slopes, crystal-clear waters, and landscapes shaped by ancient glaciers over thousands of years.

Along the way, your guide will lead the group along routes chosen according to the weather, tides, and conditions, ensuring the best possible experience on the day. During stops on the water, you'll raft the kayaks together and hear stories about Olden, its history, and the glaciers that continue to shape the landscape today. You'll also learn about the fjord's wildlife and geology, as well as its maritime heritage and seafaring traditions, gaining a deeper understanding of life in this remarkable region.

This guided kayaking excursion is perfect for those who want an active outdoor experience while getting close to the stunning natural beauty of Olden and Nordfjord, while also discovering the area's rich culture and traditions.
