Explore the area around Kirkenes by quadbike.

Gain insight into the history of the area and local mines.

Visit the Norwegian border at Skafferhullet.

Enjoy the beautiful view from the top of Prestfjellet Mountain.

How it works

Your guide will meet you at the quay in Kirkenes for a safety briefing before you pair up and set off on a quad bike adventure through town and the surrounding countryside.

Your first stop is a viewpoint overlooking the Sydvaranger iron mine, established in the early 20th century. Along the way, your guide will share the mine’s fascinating history, including its capture, destruction, and reconstruction during and after World War II.

Next, you'll visit Skafferhullet, the former Norway–Russia border crossing that operated until 1966. Here, you can enjoy a hot drink and snack while taking in views of a small Russian chapel and buildings across the border.

The return route climbs Prestfjellet Mountain, offering sweeping views of Kirkenes and the surrounding wilderness before returning to the ship.
