Learn about Kodiak’s wartime history on a scenic walk through Fort Abercrombie State Park.
  • Enjoy a short scenic drive from the pier to Fort Abercrombie State Park, and back to the pier.

  • Hike along well-maintained natural and gravel trails and see historic landmarks throughout the park.

  • Appreciate magnificent forest views along the trail and ocean views at Miller Point.

  • Get fantastic bird and whale sighting opportunities, which are sure to send you home with a full camera.


Nature and history 

Take a shuttle to the park and follow the natural and gravel trails, taking in breath-taking views as you go. Hike through forests and near ocean bluffs, passing remnants of WWII bunkers and gun placements. Pause at Miller Point to admire sweeping ocean views and perhaps spot a whale or two, along with a variety of seabirds. Finish up back at the main parking area for a ride back to the pier.
