While The Coastal Express visits many smaller ports along Norway’s traditional coastal route, The Arctic Line offers a more immersive experience with extended stays, premium cuisine, and a strong focus on the Arctic region.

Warm, layered clothing, waterproof outerwear, sturdy footwear, a hat and gloves are essential. Shoe grips for snow and ice are advisable for walking outdoors, even in towns and villages. Don’t forget to bring swimwear for the onboard sauna.

Yes, you can go to and from the ship while it is docked in Tromsø overnight. Think of it as your conveniently located floating hotel – perfect if you decide to head out to a local restaurant or bar for the evening.

Copenhagen is a major hub for international travelers, and a beautiful destination in its own right. Sailing from here, we head swiftly up past the Arctic Circle, giving you more time to see the north of Norway.

Norwegian, English and French are the official onboard languages. Some members of the Expedition Team, reception staff and service crew also speak German.

Most of our excursions are guided in two or three languages. Please contact the Expedition Team on board for further information.

During your voyage, our Expedition Team, made up of many local Norwegians, provides lectures and on-deck guiding while sharing insights about the culture along the route.

Highlights include a photography program to help you capture coastal scenery and the Northern Lights, as well as informal evening gatherings with the team. Topics vary by day, from maritime history and Viking legends to geology, fjords and life in small coastal communities.

MS Trollfjord also has a sauna and a fitness room for all guests to use.

From food and drink tastings to outdoor activities, we will offer a selection of seasonal excursions designed to bring you closer to Norway’s culture, nature and wildlife. Book your add-on excursions from March/April 2026, with options to suit all tastes and abilities.
