Enjoy a beautiful hike through the Urke River Valley, with views of the Sunnmøre Alps, before tucking into a local lunch.
Stretch your legs on a safe gravel road through beautiful mountain, river, and fjord scenery.
Hear local stories about the fjord’s history from your guide.
Finish with a delicious and satisfying meal at the idyllic Urke Port House. You’ve earned it!
After leaving the ship by tender, you’ll meet your guide at the port. A ferry crossing takes you to the opposite side of the fjord, where a 1.2-mile walk along the shoreline leads to the village of Urke. The route follows the Urke River through a valley framed by the Sunnmøre Alps before returning to the port, covering approximately 2.5–3 miles in total on gravel paths.
Throughout the walk, your guide will share stories about the mountains, the fjord, and the history of the small communities that line Hjørundfjord.
The excursion concludes at Urke Port House with a light meal featuring assorted cured hams, potato salad, flatbread, and lefse, accompanied by coffee, tea, or a soft drink. A 15-minute boat ride back to Sæbø provides a scenic end to the afternoon.
