Get to know the sled dogs that live and work on the husky farm
You’ll travel by bus to a husky farm while your local guide shares insights into daily life in Alta, a town known for hosting Europe’s longest dog sled race and for its strong sledding culture.
After a safety briefing upon arrival, you’ll set off in small groups of two or three for a 20–30-minute sled ride (approximately 0.6–0.9 miles / 1–1.5 km) through the snowy winter landscape, guided by an experienced musher.
Back at the farm, you’ll gather around a crackling fire inside a lavvo (a traditional Sámi tent) for hot drinks and cookies. Your hosts will share stories about training and racing sled dogs, and you’ll have time to meet the huskies up close and take photos before returning.
