How it works

Starting at the harbor, we make our way to Stiftsgården, the royal residence, before reaching the market square, where a towering statue of the city’s founder, Viking King Olav Tryggvason, dominates the skyline.

We then continue to the majestic Nidaros Cathedral, Norway’s national shrine and the world’s northernmost medieval cathedral, where you’ll have the opportunity to step inside.

Our return route crosses Gamle Bybro, the Old Town Bridge. Locals know it as “The Portal of Happiness,” a nickname popularized by a beloved waltz written by 20th-century Norwegian singer and composer Kristian Hoddø. Enjoy views of the colorful wharves along the Nid River before we make our way back to the ship.
