Suitable for most guests, with only a small amount of walking
Leaving the port, you’ll travel through Nordnes, a historic peninsula extending into Bergen Harbor. Once a center of merchant trade in the 16th and 17th centuries—and later a site of public executions—it is now a peaceful residential area. You’ll pause at Muséplassen for a photo stop near the Christiestøtten statue in front of the University Museum.
From here, the bus continues to Bryggen, Bergen’s UNESCO-listed Hanseatic Wharf. This historic waterfront district features rows of colorful wooden buildings dating back to the Middle Ages, rebuilt multiple times after fires but retaining their distinctive character.
A short walk through Bryggen’s narrow alleys offers a sense of stepping back in time into Bergen’s medieval merchant past.
