How it works

From your ship, you'll board a smaller boat for a spectacular journey through Lofoten's dramatic fjords, past rugged islands and towering mountains, and toward the famous Trollfjord. Along the way, keep an eye out for Sea Eagles soaring overhead, whales surfacing nearby, and seals resting along the shoreline.

Trollfjord is just 1.6 miles (2.5 km) long, yet it is framed by steep, dramatic mountains on both sides. Your Coastal Express ship will sail into the fjord through its narrow 328-foot (100 m) entrance before performing its iconic 180-degree turn inside. From aboard the smaller boat, you'll enjoy a front-row view and excellent opportunities for photography and filming.

As you approach Trollfjord, fish are used to attract the area's abundant birdlife. Gulls may swoop down to take fish directly from your hand, while Sea Eagles circle overhead before diving to catch their meal from the water. It's an unforgettable opportunity to witness Northern Europe's largest bird of prey in action and capture incredible photos.

Your boat will then continue to Svolvær, where you'll rejoin your ship.
