How it works

Upon arriving at the experience center in Honningsvåg, you’ll be fitted with a flotation suit and life jacket before boarding a RIB boat. As you speed across the water toward Sarnes, you’ll stop at several crab pots to check the day’s catch and bring it ashore for a scenic picnic.

The crab will be prepared the traditional way—boiled in seawater and served with fresh bread, mayonnaise, and lemon. While lunch is prepared, your guide will share the fascinating story of the king crab and how it came to inhabit Norway’s northern coastline.

Before returning to Honningsvåg, enjoy coffee or tea by the fire inside a modern Sámi lavvo (tent).
