No, Hurtigruten does not have an online check-in process. All check-ins are completed either at the terminal prior to departure or directly on board the ship, depending on your departure port.
Please note that the ship cannot wait for late passengers. If you miss your ship, you will need to arrange transport by yourself and at your own expense to the next port on the schedule.
We Norwegians are down-to-earth people. We don’t believe in dress codes on board. Wear your hiking shoes to dinner or your slippers to breakfast. It’s up to you. Just leave spikes off indoors and keep your shoes on in restaurants and the bar for safety.
We provide complimentary Wi-Fi aboard all our ships, though signal strength may vary in different areas. We sail through remote regions of Norway, so internet speeds may be slower and less suitable for streaming services.
Note: If you have booked a Basic fare or a port-to-port sailing, please make sure you are registered with our 1893 Ambassador Loyalty Program to access the complimentary Wi-Fi.
As our weather is so variable, the golden rule for any Norway cruise is to bring layers. Packing a mix of comfortable clothing from moisture-wicking base layers to lightweight T-shirts, insulating layers such as a fleece to keep you warm, and outer layers made up of a windproof and waterproof shell, mean that you can quickly adapt to changing weather and temperatures. The key is to adjust your layers: start light indoors and add warmth as needed when venturing outside.
