Learn more about the history of this region
Your journey along the iconic Rauma Railway begins in Åndalsnes and winds through some of Norway’s most dramatic scenery. Towering cliffs, emerald rivers, and iconic landmarks—including Trollveggen (Europe’s highest vertical rock face) and the famous Kylling Bridge—make this one of the most scenic train routes in Europe.
Along the way, your guide shares stories of trolls, rockslides, waterfalls, and the remarkable wartime operation in April 1940, when Norway’s national gold reserve was transported along this very line to safety.
At Bjorli, you’ll have time to stretch your legs before continuing your return journey.
