How it works

Departing Svolvær by RIB, your experienced skipper will first head to an idyllic lagoon lined with white-sand beaches and surrounded by islands and skerries. Here, you’ll have an excellent chance of spotting Sea Eagles, Europe’s largest bird of prey.

You’ll then continue at high speed across Vestfjord to the island of Skrova. Decades ago, the fishing and whaling industries swelled the island’s population to several thousand, but today the village is home to just under 200 residents. Skrova has two nicknames: “Photo Island,” due to its permanent outdoor photography exhibitions, and “Hawaii Island,” thanks to its sunny climate and dramatic coastal scenery. You’ll pause here to learn about modern salmon fishing and the island’s rich maritime history.

The journey continues to the small village of Skjoldvær before heading back across Vestfjord to Svolvær. On arrival, you’ll be greeted at the harbor entrance by the statue of the “Fisherman’s Wife” before re-boarding your ship.
