Your adventure begins with a spectacular ride on the Ulriken Cable Car. In just five minutes, you’ll reach the highest of Bergen’s seven mountains, where breathtaking fjord views unfold at the summit. Take in the sweeping panoramas and capture unforgettable photos from this elevated vantage point over Bergen and the surrounding fjord landscape.
Next, you’ll visit Fantoft Stave Church, a remarkable wooden structure originally built around 1150. Here, your guide will explain why stave churches are considered Norway’s most important contribution to medieval European architecture. This beautifully reconstructed landmark offers a powerful glimpse into Norway’s cultural and religious history.
Your journey continues through Bergen city center, passing the Music Pavilion and nearby art museums, which feature works by Edvard Munch and other notable Norwegian artists. Finally, you’ll explore the historic Bryggen district, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the iconic Hanseatic Wharf. As you walk through its narrow cobblestone alleys, your guide will share stories of Bergen’s merchant past and seafaring traditions. You’ll also see Bergenhus Fortress, Håkon’s Hall, and St. Mary’s Church—the oldest building in Bergen—each adding depth to the city’s rich historical narrative.
