Meet the team: MS Trollfjord

Get to know your Coastal Experience Team on board the flagship for The Svalbard Express and The North Cape Express. Their passion, expertise, and love for the Norwegian coast will ensure your voyage is a memorable one.

Ina

Since 1999, Ina has sailed all over the Arctic and Antarctic with Hurtigruten, but there is always something that brings her back to Norway.

“The nature and landscapes are so unique. Around every corner you find new breathtaking scenery. I love to give our guests a taste of typical Norway when we are out in nature, maybe by telling a story or by giving them something local to taste.”

Fabrizio

Originally from the Italian Alps, Fabrizio has always been attracted to mountainous and Arctic landscapes – hence his love for Norway. With a background in human geography, he worked as a tour guide in the North Cape region before joining the Coastal Experience Team.

“What I like about Norway is that it’s quite diverse depending on location, season, and time of day. My favourite place is Finnmark, where it’s possible to hike for hours without meeting anyone.”

Linus

Part Swedish, part German, Linus has spent much of his career in tourism. He first came across Hurtigruten while working as a tour guide in Tromsø, a city that now lies close to his heart.

“Working with Hurtigruten ensures new adventures every day. The seasons, weather, passengers, and ports are constantly changing, so no two journeys are the same. It’s very rewarding to see our guests discover new places and have great experiences on their voyage.”

Hege

Originally from Trondheim, Hege’s spirit of adventure led to 20 years living in Greece. And then to the Coastal Experience Team when she moved back to the Norwegian coast.

“I‘ve worked aboard Hurtigruten since 2017 and can’t imagine any other job! I have family in northern Norway and like to tell stories about them in my lectures. I also enjoy mountain walks and love to forage for berries and mushrooms – but only the edible ones!”

Julian

Born in Germany, Julian originally worked as a carpenter. His love of the outdoors inspired him to retrain as a nature guide in Svalbard, and eventually to join our team.

“I love exploring Norway year-round, whether in summer with a tent and a 20kg backpack, or in winter on mountain skis. My passion for natural phenomena and joy for photography is something I love to share with our guests.”

Román

Born in Barcelona, Román’s passion for the ocean and the mountains led him to a career in nature. He moved to Norway in 2014, working as a ‘friluftsliv’ guide in Voss, Kirkenes, and Reine, before training to become an Arctic nature guide in Svalbard and consequently joining Hurtigruten.

“Connecting people with nature is my vocation. I love being outdoors, especially when it involves ski-mountaineering, surfing, or sea kayaking.”

Ada

A trained lawyer, Ada discovered she could combine her love for travel with volunteering at sea. After stints in the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, she embarked on a beach clean-up along the Helgeland coast, where she fell head over heels for Norway.

“Post-Covid, I decided to set sail once again as part of the Coastal Experience Team. After all, is there anything more beautiful that one can do than to share their knowledge and passion with others?”
