Everything you need to know about transfers, hotels, embarkation and departure procedures for your voyage on MS Trollfjord and MS Midnatsol.

It is necessary to bring a valid travel document, either passport or Schengen national ID with travel rights. We recommend bringing a passport for travel to Svalbard. Please ensure you are aware of any additional entry requirements necessary for yourself. You may find more information at the Norwegian government site, and the Visit Svalbard site. SMIF: Please note that all guests traveling on our Signature ships (MS Trollfjord, MS Midnatsol and MS Finnmarken) need to fill out the Ship Manifest Information Form (SMIF). Please find more information and the form here.
NB! For half voyages starting on the below dates, the arrival and departure information below is valid for your departures.
If you have booked the extension programme with the Arctic Norway Frontier, additional information will come with your travel documents.

For the MS Trollfjord sailing arriving on 16 June 2026, docking will be at 16:30.
South Voyage (Longyearbyen to Bergen) – 8 days
Day 1 – Longyearbyen departure time: 19:00 (check in open: 13:00–16:30)
For the MS Trollfjord sailing departing on 16 June, departure will be at 23:00, with check-in available between 17:30–19:00.
Day 8 – Bergen arrival time: 07:00 (departure 16 June 2026 will be at 23:00)
Bergen
Embarkation in Bergen
The Jektevik Terminal will be open from 10:30 to 13:30 for check-in.
At the port, you will find Hurtigruten’s dedicated guest lounge on the second floor of the terminal building. Here, you can enjoy light refreshments and free Wi-Fi.
Before boarding, all guests must attend a safety briefing in the lecture hall of Hurtigruten’s guest lounge.
Once you have checked in on board the ship, lunch will be served in the main restaurant, Flora, between 12:00 and 14:00.
Your cabin will be ready for you at 14:00. We will depart at 14:30.
Arrival in Bergen
If you have booked an arrival package with Hurtigruten, below you can find a brief description of transfer and hotel information.
After arriving to the Bergen Airport, grab your luggage and check the boards before exiting the airport to see the transfer information. Head outside, at platform A3 take the white and teal coloured bus labelled Flybussen, supplied by the company Tide. Flybussen is the official airport shuttle buses and are public buses. If pre-booked, you will have a voucher included in your travel documents which you can show to the driver to board the bus. The buses leave the airport one to three times per hour, depending on the time of day. Please note that only on the day prior to embarkation there will be representatives present at the airport approximately between the hours of 11:00 and 19:00.
The Flybussen shuttle will make several stops on its route and has set public bus stops. If you have booked a hotel stay, you will find in the overview below the bus stop closest to your hotel. All the hotels we offer are only a few minutes' walk from the bus stops.
If you are going directly to the Hurtigruten ship, please get off at the last bus stop, the Jekteviksterminal.
The shuttle will stop at the Jektevik Terminal, which is the Hurtigruten terminal in Bergen. For more information about the embarkation process and terminal opening times, please see the above section titled “Embarkation in Bergen”.

If you arrive to Bergen the day before embarkation, there will be a Welcome Desk available at the Clarion Hotel Admiral between 17:00-18:30 and at the Home Hotel Bryggen between 19:00-21:30. We recommend to stop by to the closest hotel to you to pick up your luggage tags and, if you have booked transfers, get information on the transfers on embarkation day.
If you have a hotel night in Bergen prior to embarking your ship, head to the closest Flybussen stop and show the driver your voucher to go to the Jektevik Terminal. Please note that the bus may make several stops before arriving to the Terminal.
Disembarkation in Bergen (Day 8 or Day 15)
Your ship will arrive to Bergen’s Jektevik Terminal at 07:00.
Please note that all guests will need to go through customs after arrival to Bergen.
If booked, a transfer bus will take you from the terminal to the airport, and exact transfer times will be given on board before you disembark. If the transfer is not included in your package, you can purchase a ticket on board the ship. There will also be a bus to take you to your hotel, if you have booked a night after your voyage. Please note that check-in for most Bergen hotels is 15:00.
If you have a late flight and prefer to travel to the airport later, you can use the luggage lockers available to store your luggage at Jektevik Terminal. Luggage lockers on the first floor of the terminal of varying sizes are available and can be paid for by credit card. From the Terminal take any official Flybussen airport transfer at your convenience. Please show your voucher to the bus driver.

Longyearbyen
Embarking in Longyearbyen (Day 1)
Whether you’ve arrived a day prior to embarkation or the day of embarkation, below is the information for transfers and getting to MS Trollfjord or MS Midnatsol.
If you don’t have transfers booked with Hurtigruten, there will also be taxis available. You can use Airport Shuttle - Svalbard Buss og Taxi, however, please keep in mind that Longyearbyen is a remote location with limited resources, so there may be a waiting time.
If you have pre-booked any transfers to or from the Longyearbyen airport through Hurtigruten, be sure to have your voucher printed to hand into the driver as the supplier is unable to accept digital vouchers. The voucher will be sent to you in a separate email titled “Voucher Ref:”.
You can get on board your ship starting from 13:00 and until 16:30, in time for the safety briefing at 17:00. Cabins will be ready for you at 17:00 and dinner will be served starting at 18:00. Your ship will set sail from Longyearbyen at 19:00.
Arrival in Longyearbyen
Arriving day(s) before embarkation
If you have booked with Hurtigruten a hotel night or two in Longyearbyen before the voyage, take the transfer bus, if included in your booking, or a taxi if you haven’t pre-booked the transfer. If you have pre-booked the transfer from the airport to the hotel, be sure to have your transfer voucher printed to hand over to the driver.
Check-in at Longyearbyen hotels is at 15:00, but luggage can be stored for early arrivals.
If you feel up to the adventure, book an excursion with Hurtigruten Svalbard, shop in the local businesses and grab dinner at the local’s favourite restaurant.
Arriving day of embarkation - Morning
If you have arrived in the morning, take the transfer bus available to the city centre. Be sure to have your transfer voucher printed to hand over to the driver for this transfer. The voucher can be found in a separate email sent to you with the title “Voucher Ref:”.
You can store your luggage at the Radisson Blu Polar Hotel until time to catch the transfer to your ship. Please inform the Radisson Blu Polar Hotel reception staff that you are traveling with Hurtigruten that day.
Arriving day of embarkation - Afternoon
From the Longyearbyen airport, for arrivals after 13:00 on embarkation day, you can the transfer to your ship. Be sure to inform the driver that you need to go to MS Trollfjord or MS Midnatsol. Please have your voucher printed to hand to the driver. The voucher can be found in a separate email sent to you with the title “Voucher Ref:”.
Disembarking in Longyearbyen (Day 8)
Disembarking and hotel night(s) in Longyearbyen
Your voyage will come to an end in Longyearbyen at 13:00. Once you disembark, a transfer will take you to Longyearbyen’s city centre.
Once at your hotel, you will be able to check in from 15:00. The rest of the afternoon is yours to explore as you wish.
When going from the hotel to the airport, please be sure to have your voucher printed. The transfer from Longyearbyen’s city centre will run according to the flight schedules that day. Please check with the hotel reception for times when the transfer will be there.
Disembarking and heading home
After disembarking, take the transfer bus headed to the airport. Hand the driver your printed transfer voucher, if you have pre-booked this. You can find your pre-booked voucher in a separate email titled “Voucher Ref:”.
