Financial Information
The Norwegian VAT (Value Added Tax) on your invoice is a consumption tax applied to certain goods and services. Businesses collect VAT on behalf of the Norwegian tax authorities and include it in the price charged to customers.
Norwegian VAT is tiered from 0% to 25% depending on sold products.
As Hurtigruten operates in Norway, Norwegian VAT applies to services that are subject to Norwegian VAT legislation, regardless of where the customer is located. Where VAT is applicable, it must be charged and displayed on the invoice in accordance with Norwegian tax regulations.
In some cases, a single booking may include different products or services that are subject to different VAT rates. For example, transportation, accommodation, excursions, and certain onboard services may each have their own applicable VAT category. As a result, your invoice may show the total amount split across different VAT rates.
This breakdown is required to ensure that VAT is calculated and reported correctly under Norwegian tax law. The total VAT amount and relevant VAT categories will be clearly displayed on your invoice.
