We welcome pets on our Original ships and we want you to feel prepared before you sail. On this page, you’ll find everything you need to know about bringing your pet on board – from where your pet can stay on the ship to how to plan for short breaks along the Norwegian coast.

Where can my pet stay on board?

Guests travelling with pets will need to stay in one of our pet-friendly cabins. These need to be booked in advance through our Customer Service Centre, and a pet add-on fee of 150 NOK per night applies for each pet. Your pet will need to remain in the cabin while on board, and is not permitted to move around the ship with you.

Your pet is also welcome to stay in your car or in its own carrier or cage on the car deck. There is no additional fee for this option. If our pet cabins are fully booked, this will be your pet’s designated place for the duration of your time on board.

Please note: There are no outdoor areas for pets on deck, and pets are not allowed to relieve themselves on the ship. Most guests plan their pet’s routine around our port calls. Check our sailing timetable to plan your journey.

Can I bring my guide or service dog on board?

Guide and service dogs are welcome on board and can move freely around the ship with their owner.

  • They are usually booked into a pet cabin, though you may upgrade to another cabin type if you prefer.

  • They may enter common areas, but not the restaurant. Our crew is happy to assist with dining.

  • Our team is here to support guests who are blind or visually impaired throughout the voyage.

  • Proper documentation or certification is required.

Are there additional fees for bringing my pet on board?

A standard add-on fee of 150 NOK per pet per night applies when booking a pet cabin. To ensure cabins are cleaned properly, a fee of 1500 NOK may apply if a pet travels undeclared and without a pet cabin booking.
