How it works
Starting at the harbour, we make our way up to Stiftsgården, the royal residence, before reaching the market square – where a towering statue of the city's founder, Viking King Olav Tryggvason, dominates the skyline.
We then head to the majestic Nidaros Cathedral, Norway's national shrine and the world's northernmost medieval cathedral, where you'll have a chance to step inside.
Our return route crosses Gamle Bybro, the old city bridge. It’s known to the locals as “The Portal of Happiness”, a nickname coined in a popular waltz by 20th-century Norwegian singer and composer Kristian Hoddø. Enjoy the view of the colourful wharves along the River Nid before we make our way back to the ship.
