Discover Lorraine Kelly’s Norwegian Odyssey
Join Lorraine Kelly on her Norwegian adventure as she explores the best of our magnificent coastline on board Hurtigruten – uncovering tales, tastes and traditions along the way.

Broadcasting legend Lorraine Kelly is setting sail for Norway – and you’re invited to follow along. In her new show, Lorraine Kelly’s Norwegian Odyssey, brought to you by Channel 4 and Hurtigruten, Lorraine travels north along Norway’s coast.
Carried by our ships for much of her journey, she explores the fjords, fishing villages and Arctic landscapes that define our beautiful part of the world.
Across three episodes, she meets the people who call this coastline home, from reindeer herders and seaweed foragers to ship captains and Arctic chefs. In between, she chases the Northern Lights, samples local flavours and reconnects with her childhood fascination for Viking myths and sea adventures.

This is Hurtigruten
For over 130 years, Hurtigruten has been part of life along Norway’s coast. Since 1893, our ships have connected remote communities, carried locals and travellers alike, and sailed one of the world’s most extraordinary coastlines, day after day, in every season.
Today, guests from around the world choose Hurtigruten not just for the sensational scenery, but for the authentic experience. From coastal food and locally led excursions to warm, personal service on board, our voyages are shaped by generations of knowledge of the Norwegian coast.

Experience Norway like Lorraine on Hurtigruten
Lorraine was moved by some of Norway’s most incredible scenery – but the moments that stand out the most aren’t just the views. Often, they were the things she did. From kayaking through a city by the sea to cod fishing from a 100-year-old boat and dog sledding near Tromsø, these hands-on experiences brought her closer to the people, stories and soul of Norway.
Whether she was harvesting seaweed in Arctic waters or tasting whisky aged under the Northern Lights, it was these moments that made the journey unforgettable. They’re the kind of meaningful encounters that reveal real life along the coast.

Norway is a place where the landscape is in charge, where myths come alive, and where people and nature are as one.

About Lorraine's voyage with Hurtigruten
Lorraine sailed on several ships during filming, including MS Richard With, MS Polarlys, MS Nordnorge and MS Kong Harald – all part of our Coastal Express fleet.
Lorraine sailed significant sections of our Original Coastal Express route, sailing year-round between Bergen and Kirkenes. You can book a full or partial voyage that mirrors large parts of Lorraine’s journey, with many of the same experiences available year-round. Go to our voyage hub to find the cruise that best suits you.
The Coastal Express sails to 34 ports over 12 days, travelling through fjords, crossing the Arctic Circle and rounding North Cape – the northernmost point of mainland Europe – between Bergen, Gateway to the Fjords, and Kirkenes near the Russian border.
It stops at towns like Ålesund, Trondheim and Tromsø as well as ports in the Lofoten Islands, Vesterålen and Norway’s far north.
The full cruise between Bergen and Kirkenes takes 12 days. You can also sail the route northbound (7 days) or southbound (6 days).
Yes. Lorraine travelled with Hurtigruten in both summer and winter. Each season offers something different – Northern Lights in winter, Midnight Sun in summer, and rich colour and culture year-round.
