Combine the iconic North Cape with an unforgettable birdwatching experience at one of Norway's most impressive bird cliffs.
Stand at continental Europe’s most northerly point
Enjoy a boat ride to see one of Norway’s biggest bird cliffs
Spot seabirds such as puffins, kittiwakes, cormorants, gannets, and shags
You'll first travel by bus above the 71st parallel to North Cape – a dramatic clifftop plateau rising 307 metres from the ocean at the very top of continental Europe.
You can visit North Cape Hall, where a 180° panoramic film takes you through the region across all four seasons, while underground tunnel exhibitions trace the area's long history. The complex also includes the world's northernmost chapel, a small museum and a souvenir shop.
From North Cape, you continue to Gjesvær – a historic Viking fishing village of just 100 inhabitants – where a boat takes you out to the islands of Gjesværstappan. The meeting of warm and cold ocean currents creates nutrient-rich waters, and the steep island cliffs provide ideal nesting conditions for thousands of seabirds.
From the boat, look out for Finnmark's largest Puffin colony alongside Kittiwakes, Sea Eagles, Guillemots, Razorbills, Cormorants, Arctic Skuas and Northern fulmars. During nesting season, the cliffs are alive with sound and movement.
