Yes, you can travel on Hurtigruten with your pet. To do so, please book your ticket through our Customer Service Centre. Please note that if you need to book a cabin for your journey, there will be an additional fee of 200 NOK per night for pets.

Pets are not permitted to move around the ship, including on the outside decks, and must remain in your cabin or car for the duration of the journey. The exception is service dogs, which require documentation or confirmation from a doctor upon boarding. It is permitted to take your dog (or other pet) off the ship via the car deck in all ports.

For more information on travelling with a pet, see our dedicated FAQs.

You can find your port address in My Booking once you've logged in.

If you're sailing on a Signature voyage, you can also find your port address on our Arrival and Departure pages.

Go to our Excursions hub and select your voyage to view the available options. Click “Add” on the ones you’re interested in, then choose “Request to book” and enter your booking reference and passenger details.

Once submitted, our Customer Service Team will confirm your request and add the excursions to your invoice. Please note that you will not receive an email if your request is not possible – your excursion is only booked once you have received confirmation from us.

Alternatively, you can call or email our Customer Service Team and they can handle the booking process for you.

It is necessary to bring a valid travel document, either passport or Schengen national ID with travel rights. If you have booked in advance online, please also have your booking number to hand – although there is no need to print your email confirmation.

Note that we do not issue printed tickets for your voyage.

As our weather is so variable, the golden rule for any Norway cruise is to bring layers. Packing a mix of comfortable clothing from moisture-wicking base layers to lightweight T-shirts, insulating layers such as a fleece to keep you warm, and outer layers made up of a windproof and waterproof shell, mean that you can quickly adapt to changing weather and temperatures. The key is to adjust your layers: start light indoors and add warmth as needed when venturing outside.
