Dog sledding Wilderness Adventure Camp Finnsnes Tromso Norway HGR 15830
husky-sledge-adventure-kirkenes-norway-hgr-28037-1920
  • Learn all about the history, culture and day-to-day life of Alta, also known as The Northern Lights City

  • Enjoy an exhilarating ride through a winter wonderland on a dog sled

  • Eat and drink around a roaring wood fire in a Sami herdsman’s tent, known as a laavo

  • Get to know the sled dogs that live and work on the husky farm

You'll travel by bus to the husky farm, while enjoying insights from the local guide about life in Alta. Home to Europe's longest dog sled race, its’s a town that takes its sledding seriously. After a safety briefing on arrival, you'll set off in small groups of two or three on a 20–30-minute sled ride through the winter landscape, driven by a trained guide. Back at the farm, gather around a crackling fire inside a lavvo – a traditional Sámi tent – for hot drinks and cookies. Your hosts will share their experience of raising and racing sled dogs, and there's plenty of time to meet the sled dogs themselves (and take photos!) before heading back.
