How it works

Leaving the port, we head into the city via Nordnes – a historic peninsula that stretches into Bergen harbour. Once the heart of merchant trade in the 16th and 17th centuries, it was for many years the site of public executions. A short photo stop at Muséplassen follows, by the Christiestøtten statue in front of the University Museum.

From there the bus continues to Bryggen, Bergen's UNESCO-listed harbour district and its most iconic landmark. This stretch of colourful wooden wharf buildings dates to the Middle Ages, rebuilt several times after fires but never losing its character. A short walk through the narrow alleyways feels like stepping back through the centuries.
