How it works

Setting out from the quay, you'll enjoy a brief sightseeing tour of Hammerfest before beginning your hike.

Highlights include the town’s distinctive parish church, the monument commemorating the Napoleonic Wars, and Ole Olsen Place, honouring the renowned composer born here.

Your guide will then lead you along the zigzag trail up Mount Salen. The climb requires a good level of fitness, but the reward is well worth the effort. On a clear day, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the islands of Melkøya, Sørøya, and Seiland.

After taking in the scenery, you'll descend back toward town, passing the Arctic Culture Centre before returning to the ship.
