  • Visit a working, family-run farm in Lofoten

  • Meet some of the family to hear about their story

  • See the many cherished animals of the farm

  • Sample fresh cheese and herbs made at the farm

Departing Stamsund by bus, we head to Aalan Farm in Lauvdalen – a herb and cheese farm run by Knut and Tove Åland, with a little help from their children, in the heart of the Lofoten Islands.

Aalan supplies our ships with quality teas and award-winning cheeses throughout the year, making this a rare chance to meet the producers in person and taste the very cheeses you may have enjoyed on board.

Knut and Tove will share the realities of farm life this far north, while you sample their cheeses, herbs and other homemade products. Afterwards, meet the farm's goats, miniature pigs, ducks, chickens, cats and dogs – and if you're lucky, their free-range cow Victoria may put in an appearance too. Our bus then takes us on to Svolvær to rejoin the ship.
