Discover the area around Geirangerfjord
Experience travelling Eagle Road and Trollstigen Pass
Visit Gudbrands Gorge sculpted by the Valldøla River
Enjoy a delicious dinner at a hotel in Molde
Disembarking port: Landing is by tender boat, and getting on and off the boat requires a certain degree of mobility
Embarking port: Molde
Available period: 1 Jun - 31 Aug
Transportation: Boat/Bus
Meals: Coffee/tea, roll, pancake, and dinner
Clothes: Comfortable shoes and warm clothing
Please note that only excursion participants go ashore in Geiranger
Please note: Due to a high risk of rockfalls and ongoing maintenance, the local authorities have decided to close the Trollstigen pass leading to Åndalsnes until approximately mid-July 2025. Therefore, this excursion will follow an alternative route from the plateau to Molde. Panoramic views of the Trollstigen pass will still be visible from the plateau.
Explore the landscape around the village of Geiranger and enjoy panoramic views of UNESCO-listed Geirangerfjord on this excursion. You’ll begin with a bus drive up winding Ørneveien (Eagle Road), all the while taking in the magnificent scenery en route to Eidsdalsvatnet Lake. From there, you’ll descend back to sea level to take a picturesque ferry ride from Eidsdal to Linge.
Back on dry land, we pass through stark, high-alpine areas to Gudbrandsjuvet (Gudbrands Gorge). The Valldøla River rushes through this five-metre narrow ravine, some 25 metres high. You’ll see that the water has carved out deep potholes and intricate rock formations.
We’ll then go to another highlight of this trip: the series of 11 hairpin bends down steep Trollstigen Pass. At the bottom, it’s time for a hot drink and a bite to eat before we continue to the gentler landscape of Romsdalsfjord. The excursion finishes with a sumptuous dinner in Molde before you embark your ship again.
Excursion is subject to a minimum number of participants.

Let’s take a trip around the beautiful town of Ålesund and take in its captivating architecture. After a fire devastated the town in 1904, it was completely rebuilt in the Art Nouveau style, which is characterised by highly ornamental decoration.
We’ll begin at the pier, where our guide will lead us on a stroll through the streets of this enchanting town. You’ll visit the picturesque fishing harbour of Brosundet and Apotekertorget Square where a bronze statue of a fisher boy stands proudly.
From the attractive shopping street, take a moment to stop at the gallery of talented local born artist, Helge Bjørnsen. Select one of his complimentary signed prints to take home with you.
It’s then time to call in at the museum and national centre for Art Nouveau, Jugendstilsenteret. An eclectic collection of interiors, furniture, and other Art-Nouveau inspired objects will give you a fascinating insight into the history of this unique style of art.

As you explore the city, look out for well-preserved colourful wharves and a 19th century wooden bridge with distinctive red archways in the Bakklandet district. Our guide will tell you more about the city’s history as the bus takes us through Trondheim’s streets and boroughs. We’ll make a short stop at Utsikten to admire the city from above.
A trip to Trondheim wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the impressive Nidaros Cathedral. Built over the burial place of St. Olav, the patron saint of Norway, the construction of this enormous building began back in 1070. After a guided tour around the cathedral, you’ll likely understand why many describe it as the most beautiful religious building in Norway. You’ll receive your own copy of a book about the cathedral to take home as a souvenir.

Inhabited since the Viking age, Trondheim is full of culture and fascinating history. Today, we’ll explore two attractions in this ancient city. First, we’ll visit Nidaros Cathedral, Norway’s national shrine. This cathedral was built over the burial place of Norway’s patron saint, St. Olav, and features incredible Gothic-style architectural details and exquisite works of art. After a guided tour of the cathedral, you’ll have some free time to explore the area.
Next, the bus will take you to the Ringve Museum of Musical History, where your enthusiastic tour guide will bring the history of Norway’s music to life. Surrounded by a gorgeous botanical garden, this stately manor house was the childhood home of 18th century Norwegian naval hero Peter Wessel Tordenskiold who distinguished himself during the Great Northern War between Norway, Denmark, and Sweden. The museum is conveniently located just outside Trondheim and is an ideal spot to enjoy views of both the city and the fjord.

Take a short boat trip across a fjord
Visit the Svartisen Tourist Center
Pass by the world’s most powerful tidal current, Saltstraumen
In Ørnes, we’ll board a bus for a guided tour to the small village of Holandsvik, passing gorgeous scenery on the way and learning more about the surrounding area. At Holandsvik, we’ll board a boat for a 10-minute ride across the fjord.
You’ll now arrive at the Svartisen Tourist Center which has prime views of the nearby glacier. At approximately 370 square kilometres, Svartisen is Norway’s second largest glacier after the Jostedal Glacier.
Despite being the lowest lying glacier on the European continent before the last Ice Age retreat, Svartisen has some 60 tongues of ice extending from its main body into the surrounding mountain landscape, which is home to several peaks over 1,500 metres high.
At the centre, you can also enjoy a warm drink and a buffet of delicious cakes. Afterwards, continue your journey along the coast of Helgeland back to Bodø. On the way, you’ll pass Saltstraumen, the world’s strongest tidal current.

Clothing is provided for sizes XS to XXL. If your size is outside this range, please talk to the onboard Expedition Team before booking your excursion.
The Saltstraumen maelstroms have inspired local artists and writers for centuries, and for good reason. Saltstraumen is a strait with the world’s most powerful tidal current. Four times a day, 400 million cubic metres of water are forced in and out through a passage only 150 metres wide and 31 metres deep. When the current is at its strongest, whirlpools up to 10 metres wide can appear.
Journey with us on a RIB safari to see this natural wonder, and likely be inspired yourself. You’ll sit safely and comfortably in a sturdy rubber boat, operated by a highly experienced and knowledgeable captain.
During the boat ride, there’s a good chance to spot sea eagles, as well as other birds and wildlife. You might also notice how some of the exposed rock faces demonstrate distinctive patterns; the result of the rock being folded under immense pressure, known as Caledonian folding, a process that dates back over 250 million years.
Excursion is subject to a minimum number of participants.

The tour departs from Tromsø harbor where you will be picked up for a scenic 50-minute transfer to our camp in Breivikeidet, with our guide explaining you a little about the city and the area. Upon arrival at our camp, situated in a picturesque valley close to the sea, you will be welcomed by our friendly staff who will guide you through the safety instructions, and show you the basics of driving the sled.

Once you wave one last goodbye to the huskies, you’ll be driven back to the city with an experience of a lifetime behind you and spectacular photos to show for it!

Cancellation due to weather: Kindly, be advised that the tours are conducted on wheeled wagons in case there is a lack of snow.
3 kms total dog sledding: 10-12 min driving, 3 min stop, 10-12 min as passenger. We sled in pairs, taking turns between mushing and riding as passengers.

Due to the renovation and rebuilding of Fjellheisen (the cable car in Tromsø), Fjellheisen is not suitable for wheelchair users and guests with reduced mobility at all. There is a long flight of stairs at the top of Fjellheisen and no passenger lift available at the moment.
The base for many Arctic expeditions of old, Tromsø is rich in both culture and history. As part of this excursion, you’ll get to see some of the main attractions of the third-largest city north of the Arctic Circle.
Your tour begins with a ride up Tromsø’s famous cable car to the top of Mount Storsteinen (420m or 1.377ft above sea level). This is a paradise for thousands of birds, and for bird watchers too, so don’t forget to bring your camera and binoculars.
From the boat, we can observe the Finnmark region’s largest flock of puffins, together with large numbers of kittiwakes. During the nesting season this area teems with life as mighty sea eagles hover above in search of prey, while guillemots, razorbills, cormorants, Arctic skuas, northern fulmars, Brünnich’s guillemots, and the large northern gannet fill the air with a cacophony of shrieks and screeches. In the autumn, you can also catch a glimpse of Europe’s smallest seabird, the British storm-petrel.
