Our fleet of refurbished ships will resume sailing on the following dates:
MS Spitsbergen, our new expedition ship, will also be completed in July of 2016. MS Spitsbergen will also undergo a major upgrade for sailing in polar waters.
Our new interiors will reflect the breathtaking coastal landscapes we sail past; stylish, yet down-to-earth. The colors are inspired by the coast and the sea, and many of the materials are natural, such as wood, slate, and leather. Guests will be surrounded by shapes that are inspired by nature, such as fire, waves, and fjords. This new interior design has been given the name ARCTIC INTERIOR. The reception desks, cafés, cabins, bars, and aft decks are all being renovated.
Our upgrades include all the restaurants and food being served on board. We are proud to serve you the best Norwegian food from Norway’s Coastal Kitchen – fresh, locally produced food served in cooperation with Norwegian producers and suppliers. Your culinary experience will be a journey in itself, served with a modern touch. On our refurbished ships you will enjoy the following new dining options.
TORGET – NORWAY’S COASTAL KITCHEN
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are enjoyed at our main restaurant, Torget. Our new premium breakfast
includes coffee and a selection of Norwegian breakfast highlights. At lunch, tables are brimming
with a selection of hot and cold dishes. Dinner is slightly more formal, and can be either a buffet or a
3-course dinner. Dinner is served from 5:30-10:00pm over 6 different seatings, which allows our waitstaff to pay special attention to each table.
KYSTEN – ARCTIC FINE DINING
Welcome to the chef’s pride, our new à la carte dining option. Kysten – Arctic Fine Dining offers
the finest seafood from the world’s best source, the Arctic Ocean. Mouth-watering highlights include Lofoten cod, steamed king crab, mussels and scallops, and the world’s finest grilled salmon.
We also serve reindeer tenderloin, the finest and most exotic meat from the Arctic wilderness, the
sweetest desserts, and a premium selection of fine wines. You can expect the very best at Kysten –
Arctic Fine Dining.
‘Brygga’ is a Norwegian word for dockside, where ships load and unload passengers, freight, fresh fish, and cargo. The Brygga Bistro is the first dining experience guests can have after embarkment. You can
order delicious made-to-order hot foods such as pizza and hamburgers as well as traditional
Norwegian dishes, wraps, and sandwiches. Our signature dish is the shrimp sandwich, served with egg and dill mayonnaise. We think it’s the world’s finest shrimp sandwich - you really should try it!
MULTE BAKERY & ICE CREAM
‘Multe’ is the Norwegian word for cloudberry. The cloudberry grows in Norway’s mountains and is as
delicious as it is hard to find and pick. It’s also the county of Finnmark’s official flower, and an elemental ingredient in many local desserts. At Multe we serve delicious treats such as freshly
baked cinnamon buns and waffles topped with whipped cream and cloudberry jam. We’re also introducing Arctic ice creams made in Lofoten and delivered every day to our ships in
Svolvær. After a scoop of Norwegian strawberry ice cream we’re quite sure you will come back begging
EXPLORER LOUNGE & PANORAMA BAR
Join the club! Take a seat and order your favorite drink or try a shot of Arctic aquavit or Lyngen Alps
vodka. The centerpiece is a bar that aims to serve the largest collection of Norwegian spirits known to man. There is also a large selection of locally crafted Mack beers on tap, as well as daily sandwich options and Arctic hors d’oeuvres. There has never been a better way to take in the magnificent views along our journey. Relax and let our bartender mix your favorite drink!
