Enjoy a beautiful hike through the Urke river valley, with views of the Sunnmøre Alps, before tucking in to a local lunch.
Stretch your legs on a safe gravel road through beautiful mountain, river, and fjord scenery.
Hear local stories about the fjord’s history from your guide.
Finish with a delicious and satisfying meal at the idyllic Urke Port House. You’ve earned it!
After leaving the ship by tender boat, you’ll meet your guide at the port. From here, a ferry crossing takes you to the other side of the fjord, where a 2km walk along the water's edge leads to the village of Urke. The route follows the Urke River up through the valley, surrounded by the peaks of the Sunnmøre Alps, before descending back down to the port – a hike of 4–5km in total on gravel paths.
Throughout the walk, your guide shares stories of the mountains, the fjord and the history of the small communities that line the Hjørundfjord.
The excursion ends at the Urke Port House with a light meal of different hams, potato salad, flatbread and lefse, with coffee, tea or a soft drink. A 15-minute boat ride back to Sæbø brings a beautiful close to the afternoon.
