See Viking graves and discover more details about Viking history
From Bodø, your guides will lead you along shoreline pathways and across sandy beaches, sharing the history of the town and pointing out wildlife along the way. Perhaps you’ll spot an eagle flying over the sea, or even an Arctic fox foraging for food.
The coast here is also rich in Viking heritage. Many graves have been discovered over the years, appearing as quiet grassy mounds concealing centuries of Nordic history. Your guides know exactly where to find them.
A devotion to and harmony with nature is deeply ingrained in Norwegian culture, encapsulated by the word friluftsliv, a Norwegian expression meaning “outdoor life”. As you listen to the waves and feel the fresh air on your skin, you’ll no doubt gain a greater understanding of this word.
