What’s the difference between this tour and a Hurtigruten cruise-only voyage?
This is a self-guided land and sea journey. Alongside your Hurtigruten cruise from Kirkenes to Bergen, you’ll travel independently through Oslo, Flåm, and Bergen by train, plane, and coach.
The itinerary, accommodation and transfers are all arranged for you - so you can explore Norway your own way, with everything taken care of behind the scenes.
Is this a guided tour?
No. This is a self-guided tour, designed for travellers who prefer to explore independently. Everything is pre-arranged - from trains and transfers to your Hurtigruten cruise. You just follow the plan at your own pace.
What meals are included?
Breakfast is included each morning during your hotel stays, and you’ll enjoy full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) on board your Hurtigruten cruise between Kirkenes and Bergen. Drinks are not included unless otherwise specified.
Are flights and airport transfers included?
Your domestic flight from Oslo to Kirkenes is included (with checked-in bags). International flights and airport transfers are not, but can be added during the booking process.
Once the tour begins, all transfers listed in the itinerary are included.
What level of accommodation is included?
You’ll stay in comfortable, centrally located hotels (4-star standard) in Oslo, Bergen, Flåm and Kirkenes. During your five nights on board ship, you can select your cabin category.
What excursions are included?
The tour includes the famous Norway in a Nutshell - a scenic journey between Bergen and Oslo featuring the Flåm Railway, Aurlandsfjord, and Nærøyfjord.
No guided excursions are included, but you can book optional shore excursions during your cruise at an additional cost.
Is this tour suitable for guests with limited mobility?
Unfortunately, this tour is not recommended for guests who use a wheelchair or have limited mobility. Guests who can manage short walks and climb a few stairs should be able to join most activities comfortably. However, if a wheelchair is required, we would not recommend this particular tour.
