Discover why Kirkenes is aptly nicknamed 'King Crab City' on this thrilling fishing tour.
Travel by RIB with fishermen to their king crab cages in the fjord
Watch the experienced fisherman pull the crab cages from the water
See how the chef goes about skillfully preparing the catch of the day
Enjoy a sumptuous king crab buffet in a rustic fjord-side boathouse
Boarding a RIB from the harbour, you'll head out into the surrounding fjords with an experienced fisherman, watching as crab-laden cages are hauled up from the depths. Red king crabs can weigh up to 10 kg and boast a leg span of almost 2 metres, so if the catch proves a handful you may be called upon to help!
The crabs are then brought ashore to a traditional boathouse by the fjord, where a local chef transforms today's catch into a feast. You’ll feast on as much king crab as you want, savouring the succulent white, flaky meat to your heart’s content. Be sure to bring your appetite.
