Frequently Asked Questions

This is not just a voyage along the Norwegian coast - it’s a journey into the flavours, traditions and stories that define it. You’ll spend time both at sea and on land, staying at small family-run farms and coastal lodges, and meeting the people shaping Norway’s new food culture. The sailing from Bergen to Stamsund is just one part of a broader culinary adventure.

Yes, this is a partially guided tour. You’ll be joined by local guides during your time on land in Lofoten, Lyngen Fjord and Kvitnes, as well as a Wine Expert on board the ship. These hosts and guides share their own stories of the coast - from seaweed harvesters to master brewers and farmers.

Groups are usually around 8–20 guests. It’s small enough for a relaxed, personal experience, with time to get to know your Wine Expert and fellow travellers.

Flights and airport transfers are not included in the tour price. You’ll need to arrange your own travel to Bergen at the start of the voyage and from Tromsø at the end.

All other transfers listed in the itinerary are included.

You won’t go hungry on this journey. Every meal celebrates the flavours of the Norwegian coast - fresh, local and deeply connected to the places you visit.

We can accommodate most dietary needs, including vegetarian, pescatarian and gluten-free options, if notified in advance. However, due to the nature of the experiences and the locations visited – including small farms, local producers, and set tasting menus – this tour is not suitable for vegans.

While on ship you’ll stay in an Arctic Superior cabin – offering added comfort and extra touches like tea and coffee. Enjoy a window and more space, usually on the upper or middle decks, with views of the passing scenery.

On land, you’ll stay in unique, high-quality lodgings that reflect the character of the coast – such as the historic Myklevik Farm in Lofoten, Kvitnes Gård with its zero-waste kitchen, and the Aurora Fjord Cabins beside Lyngen Fjord.

Unfortunately, this tour is not recommended for guests who use a wheelchair or have limited mobility. Guests who can manage short walks and climb a few stairs should be able to join most activities comfortably. However, if a wheelchair is required, we would not recommend this particular tour.
