Planned Pre-Program itinerary

Day 1: Overnight in Reykjavík

Upon arriving in Iceland’s capital, check into your hotel. If there’s time, we recommend making the most of the numerous things to see and do in this charming city.

Day 2: Reykjavík to Kerlingarfjöll

After breakfast, you will begin your two-day tour of Kerlingarfjöll in the Highlands. We will pass through dramatic landscapes on the way to our first tour stop, the Kerið Crater. You’ll see steaming hot springs as we enter the Geysir Geothermal Area, where the stunning Strokkur geyser spouts. After lunch, we head to the double cascades of Gullfoss, known as the ‘Golden Waterfall’. Then we drive into the volcanic highlands for a cozy night at Kerlingarfjöll Mountain Resort, including dinner.

Day 3: Kerlingarfjöll

Today, you will have a chance to explore mini glaciers, steaming springs, and Arctic vegetation while hiking around Hveradalir in the Kerlingarfjöll mountain range. It is full of colorful extremes, from pure-white snow to shining, black obsidian. Afterwards, take time to enjoy a long soak in one of the natural baths, just a short hike from Kerlingarfjöll Mountain Resort. Back at the hotel, we’ll enjoy dinner and spend our second night there.

Day 4: Return to Reykjavík

After breakfast, you will go for a dip in the warm spring waters of the Secret Lagoon, created in 1891. Next, we’ll stop at the Friðheimar tomato greenhouse for a fascinating glimpse into Icelandic agriculture and horse breeding. You’ll enjoy a tomato-themed lunch at their restaurant. The last stop on your tour is the UNESCO-listed Thingvellir (Þingvellir National Park), with stunning views of the vast lava plain filled with wildflowers. Then we’ll take you straight to the pier in Reykjavík in time for embarkation.

Please note that the order of sites we visit may vary.
