Itinerary for your Post-Program
Day 1: Denali from Anchorage
After a night in Anchorage as part of your expedition cruise, you will travel to Denali National Park, one of the world’s greatest wildlife preserves. Enjoy a scenic road trip to Talkeetna, and then take a four-hour luxury dome rail journey, with lunch, through stunning panoramic views. When we reach the park, you can join optional activities or simply soak in the views. We’ll spend the night in a park lodge.
Day 2: Discover Denali National Park
Travel deep into Denali National Park today on the Tundra Wilderness Bus and search the vast wilderness for bears, moose, caribou, and Dall sheep. This journey will last between five and six hours. It is narrated to provide unique insight into the animals, as well as the flora and fauna of this spectacular region. With your guide, you will also explore Denali National Park during an approximately two-mile hike (moderately strenuous). A snack will be provided on the tour. Please note that the tour duration may vary due to weather and road conditions. Overnight at a lodge at the Denali Park entrance. We recommend bringing your own refillable water bottles, as you may find water stations along the way.
Day 3: Denali National Park to Anchorage
On the drive back to Anchorage, we’ll visit the sled dogs at Happy Trails Kennel. Take a virtual trip along the Iditarod trail, watch a dog sled demonstration, and get in some quality puppy playtime. Upon arrival in Anchorage, the rest of the day is at your leisure. We will spend one last night in a comfortable hotel.
Day 4: End of the adventure
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel as your Post-Program adventure comes to a close.
Please note that the order of sites we visit may vary.
When you travel in May, due to weather conditions, we take a shorter tour to the Toklat River for incredible scenery and a sub-Arctic experience. A boxed snack and hot beverages will be provided.
