The Waterford, Dungarvan & Lismore Railway Company, was set-up in 1872 and this particular line was the most expensive to be built in Ireland at the time, as it followed the most difficult route of any railway in the South. The railway line opened to traffic on 12th August 1878 and it was considered the most scenic route in Ireland with the most amazing views of the lush green countryside through which it travelled. Your leisurely cycle along the line will provide a snippet of this wonderful scenery and there will be time to stop for photos along the route as you take in the stunning scenery.

Once you reach the outskirts of this quaint little village, you will be invited to enjoy some tea/coffee & scones in The Coach House which was once an old famine house building dating back to the 1840’s.
