Visit Europe’s tallest vertical overhanging rock face at Trollveggen
Learn about Norwegian mountaineering and local folklore at the visitor centre
Experience the gondola ride up to a 360-degree view at Nesaksla Mountain
After some brief sightseeing in the town of Ålesund, we set off along fjords, venturing over the Ørskog Mountain before arriving at narrow Romsdalen Valley.
Travelling alongside Rauma salmon river, you cast your eyes up at the majestic mountains that tower above us. We’ll make our way up to Trollveggen or Troll Wall, Europe`s tallest vertical overhanging rock face. These Romsdal Alps boast some of the most challenging climbs in the world. To find out more about the mountaineering history in Norway, we call in at the visitor centre in Åndalsnes.
A five-minute gondola ride then transports us up to Mount Nesaksla, where a breathtaking panoramic view awaits you. After a guided walk at the top and some time exploring on your own, a delicious lunch is served.
On returning to the small town below, the bus takes us back on a relaxing tour along the fjord landscape to our ship at Ålesund.
