See the old olive trees where Azapa brand olives are grown.
Learn about local produce and the challenges that come with farming in a desert climate.
Sample different olives and enjoy a delicious Mango Sour.
Visit the handicraft village where you’ll have the opportunity to pick up some unique souvenirs.
The first olive trees in the Azapa Valley were brought by the first Spanish conquistadores. They eventually produced one of the best known olive varieties in the world - identified as the ‘Azapa brand’.
Upon arrival at the olive farm, we will learn about its irrigation system and olive selection. Before we leave, we will have the chance to taste different types of olives.
We then proceed to the local fruit & vegetable market located in town. Walk through the stands and learn about local produce from the Azapa and Lluta Valleys.
Afterwards, we will visit a famous nearby handicraft village. Browse around the workshops, which offer a variety of products including ceramics and pottery and carved stones.
Let's now enjoy a Mango Sour (a delicious drink made with chunks of local mango fruit, available year round) while local dancers perform traditional dances.
A final stop will be made at the main square for independent sightseeing before returning to the ship.
