We depart the port on a scenic ride to picturesque Camden, a quintessential New England town, and into Camden Hills State Park.
Once in the park, you have free time to explore. Camden Hills State Park's signature location is the scenic vista high atop Mt. Battie, which has sweeping views of Camden, Penobscot Bay, and surrounding islands. On a clear day, visitors can see Cadillac Mountain at Acadia National Park. The panoramic view from atop Mt. Battie inspired Edna St. Vincent Millay's poem Renascence, and still inspires visitors today. Mt. Megunticook, the highest in the Camden Hills, is a moderate climb by foot trail. Other hiking opportunities abound in the park and are well mapped.
