Tour the Basque coast to visit the picturesque fishing villages of Zumaia and Getaria. We start the day in Zumaia, known for its impressive flysch, its beautiful medieval historic center, its fantastic beaches, and the hermitage of San Telmo—not to mention its delicious gastronomy, based on fresh fish, seafood, tasty meats, and its famous pintxos (small tapas).

From San Telmo, we can enjoy the impressive views of Itzurun beach and enjoy the geological phenomenon known as flysch, formed over thousands of years by the erosion of the sea. It leaves behind a landscape that seems otherworldly. It’s a magical enclave where parts of the iconic series Game of Thrones were filmed.

We will continue our excursion in Getaria and walk through its medieval streets and port. We will visit its most famous landmarks, such as the underground hermitage and the church of San Salvador, and learn more about Juan Sebastian Elkano, the famous navigator and the first man to sail around the world. We will finish our excursion by visiting a winery producing txakoli, the typical wine of the area, where we will learn more about the production process and enjoy a tasting of local products.
