This panoramic tour of Skagen and its surroundings showcase the idyllic town of Skagen. Explore the protected and unique landscape of the northern tip of Jutland. You will pass by Hulsig Heath, an internationally protected preservation area, and one of the largest dune heaths in Europe. The tour heads for Raabjerg Mile, the largest migrating sand dune in Northern Europe. It has been crowned as one of the most beautiful areas of Denmark. This sand dune was formed on the west coast in the 16th century due to large-scale deforestation, which eventually led to the ‘Great Sand Drift’. We will have a short photo op at the Raabjerg Mile sand dune, where you can enjoy breathtaking views of the dune. En route back to Skagen, the tour passes by Kandestederne, a quaint seaside community with hotels. In Kandestederne, Karen Blixen (also known as Isaak Dinesen) worked on her famed novel ‘Out of Africa’. We continue through Old Skagen, passing fashionable seaside hotels and characteristic bright yellow houses along the coastal road. The tour concludes with a panoramic drive through Skagen town and down to the charming marina, before ending at the cruise pier.
