Discover Santiago de Compostela with a taste of local Tapas at the Parador in Santiago.

In Santiago, walk to the city’s main square, the Plaza del Obradoiro. Here stands the cathedral. Your guide will provide some information about the monument, and you will have free time to rest or visit the inside of the cathedral on your own. Upon arrival, guides will provide a full explanation of Obradoiro Square, including the cathedral, the city hall, the Colegio de San Xerome, and the Hostal dos Reis Católicos. The latter was built as a hospital for pilgrims during the reign of the Catholic kings in the 15th century. Today, it is one of the most beautiful hotels in its class.

Enjoy a guided visit of the outside of the cathedral at Obradoiro Square. Here, we can see the baroque 18th-century façade on the cathedral’s west side, showing the apostle James as a pilgrim. It also shows a representation of the urn where the remains of the apostle appeared. On the north side we find the Plaza de Azabacheria, so named because of the guild who worked with the gemstone jet, with a neoclassic façade. At the south of the square, we find the platerias (where silversmiths from the Middle Ages worked). It is the only façade of the cathedral in Romanesque style.

Finally, we will visit La Quintana Square, where you will find the Holy Door. Step inside the temple with your guide for a full visit of one of the most important Catholic sanctuaries and the burial place of the apostle Saint James the Great, the patron saint of Spain and Christian martyr.

We will join together to enter the Parador in Santiago, where we will taste some delicious tapas at this magnificent hotel.

After lunch, we return to La Coruna.
