Board your air-conditioned ride to Masaya. The bus will take you near the volcano’s active crater, where you will likely see steam rising from the fumaroles. The area around the volcano is covered by a lush forest with distinctive wildlife and vegetation which the guide will explain. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant in Masaya. On the way back to the ship, we will make a stop at the Catarina Viewpoint for a picture of the Apoyo Lagoon, Granada, Mobacho Volcano and Lake Nicaragua. At Catarina, you will find a unique market where you can purchase handmade leather products, beautiful embroidered clothing, wood carvings, music, books, ceramics, Native art, and hundreds of other items.
