A guide leads you into the unique coastal temperate rainforest ecosystems along the Wrangell Nature Trail.
Learn about the interconnectedness between tidal, muskeg, alpine and deep forest ecosystems. Discover a variety of edible and medicinal uses from local flora and fauna that have and continue to be relied on throughout south-east Alaska.
You will leave this walk with a wealth of knowledge and the enjoyable experience of everything the lush and peaceful Tongass National Rainforest has to offer.
Guests will also walk through Wrangell’s historic sites, including Kik-setti Totem Park, on the way to the Nature Trailhead. The tour departs from and returns to your pier.
Remarks/requirements: Guests must wear comfortable walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather of the day, as they will be outside with no cover for the entirety of the tour. Umbrella and/or rain jackets recommended.
Walking information: Guests will walk 5 km on both pavement and gravel trails with moderate inclines. This tour is not recommended for guests who have trouble walking.
