  • Get knowledge from an expert guide.

  • Spectacular nature and views

  • Hike on the beautiful Falkland Islands.

You are transported from the ship by minibus to nearby Whalebone Cove, where the walk begins. The tour entails 3.5 miles/ 5.5 km of brisk walking over uneven terrain, so passengers must be physically able. The walk is classed as strenuous due to the rough terrain.

As well as seeing numerous species of flora and fauna, there are spectacular views of Stanley. We recommend that you bring binoculars, camera and pen or pencil. Due to changeable weather it is also advisable that you bring warm, waterproof clothing and wear sensible footwear.

This excursion is much more than a typical penguin tour and additionally allows time for guests to explore and shop in Stanley.

At the start of the trip, an expert guide distributes an illustrated tour-specific checklist with a general description of the Falklands wildlife and other sights you may encounter. Trust us, you see lots of different flora and fauna on this excursion!

Now the walk begins. This tour involves almost 5 kilometres of brisk walking over uneven ground. Hopefully you will see the Falkland thrush, upland and kelp geese, long-tailed meadowlark, Falkland steamer duck, Magellan penguins, various endemic ferns, shrubs and grasses, scurvy grass and diddle-dee plants.

In addition to seeing numerous species of flora and fauna, there are also spectacular views of Stanley.
