Day 1: La Fortuna’s hot springs
A local guide will meet you as you disembark in Puntarena and travel with you to Tabacón Thermal Resort & Spa, your hotel for the next two nights. Sitting peacefully in over 900 acres of lush tropical reserve, it is home to Costa Rica's largest network of naturally flowing hot springs. The rest of the day is yours to spend at your leisure. Take a walk in the grounds or enjoy an invigorating soak in the hot springs.
Day 2: A river trip and Arenal Hanging Bridges
This morning, you'll take a paddle boat trip into the rainforest along the Peñas Blancas River. Your guide will help you spot monkeys, sloths, iguanas, crocodiles and birds. After lunch, we'll visit the Arenal Hanging Bridges. We'll follow a 3 km trail through the rainforest along 15 hanging bridges across the nature reserve. You’ll get a 360°, multi-level view of the jungle. If it's clear, you’ll also have amazing views of Arenal Volcano.
Day 3: La Paz Waterfall Gardens
You'll revel in astonishing natural beauty today as we take a tour of nature park and animal sanctuary La Paz Waterfall Gardens. The rainbow-filled walking trails lead to orchid, butterfly and hummingbird gardens. You'll see jaguars and pumas too. After lunch, you'll travel to your hotel in San José, where the rest of the day is your own.
Day 4: Departure from San José
Enjoy breakfast in your hotel before your Post-Programme adventure comes to an end. If you have time, enjoy some of the things to see and do in San José before heading home.
