Whisky wandering

The walk starts at Port Ellen and follows the shore, with some of Islay’s most famous distilleries along the route.  Make a brief detour and visit the MacDougall Monument, atop a grassy mound overlooking the sea.  Visit the Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg distilleries, known for their peated malts. Explore Dunyvaig Castle, built on the site of an earlier Iron Age fort.
